Maggie came to us as a puppy from the local animal control.

She was a little ball of fire and boy did she rock our world! Ha ha

Maggie lives in the lap of luxury. She goes on plane rides back east with her family because they can’t stand to leave her behind! She goes to tracking classes, goes camping, swimming, and is a general social butterfly in her neighborhood.  Maggie is an ambassador for the breed, and we are so thankful to her people for giving Maggie the good life.

Now Maggie… remember to leave some room on the couch!

Update:

Maggie is GREAT. She's starting agility lessons on Wednesday - should be interesting! She was spoiled by her father for the month of January, so is just re-learning her obedience! And I'm on a 10-week course so I get to spend more time with my baby...
We spent Xmas on the East Coast (couldn't take Maggs b/c of flight restrictions, damned West jet), but she had a GREAT time with Charlotte/Kirsten (Charlotte's Canine Capers) and I'm not sure Kirsten was happy about giving her back!! There was some serious love going on there.
Unfortunately, when I got her back she was off her raw food and had diarrhea. As a result, she was a skinny-minny (more than usual) and I switched her back to dry/ canned (lamb/rice with supplements). I tried her again on raw, but she wouldn't eat.  I took her to the vet and had fecal analysis, urinalysis, blood tests, enzyme tests (including pancreas), EKG and x-rays. After $600, we have discovered that we have an amazingly healthy (albeit skinny) dog. It's piece of mind and worth the cash to know she's okay. I'm going to keep her on dry/canned because we're going to me moving this summer to New York and keeping raw food acceptable while camping and driving across the country will be extremely difficult, if not impossible (we're taking the summer off to hang out with Mags!). DO NOT WORRY about NY!!! We are working with an agent to find an apartment that is pet-friendly (not just 'allows pets') and is near central park and off-leash areas - she's our priority and we won't compromise to give her the best and I'm taking time when we arrive in NYC to get her settled and happy. That being said, I have about 30 pounds of raw food, so if there's a rescue doggie in the area that I can give it to, please let me know.
You've had a very active month, by the looks of the website - Sam, Dejay and Oscar, all in the same month! It must be hard to see them go, especially with Dejay, but I'm sure they're happy and loved, wherever they are.
Take care, all the best, let me know if there's a 'home' for the raw food I've got in my freezer...

December 2006 update:

Hi Kelly,
I hope this e-mail finds you and your pack doing well. Maggie is doing wonderfully. We settled in Brooklyn, 2 minutes from the all-important dog park. The courts and park authority have just made off-leash 'official' (it's been 'turn a blind eye' until now), so that's huge news. Maggie has lots of doggie friends and gets to the park at least twice a day. She's recovering well from the surgery, though she gets very stiff and so she's on Chondroitin/ Glucosamine and fish oil (I'm adding MSM and maybe some other things, seeing how she goes). We found out that her hips are only 40 percentile, so not great. I've included a few pics (sorry, I think they're large) - the one of her looking at the field is the entrance to the park near our apartment, during off-leash hours there are dozens of dogs and literally a few HUNDRED dogs in the various meadows during the weekend - WEEEEEEEEEEEE!

All the best,
Fiona (& Maggie, and Ian)
