Codi 1997-2006.  She came to us overweight and misguided, but that completely changed as we bonded as deeply as is possible, completely devoted to each other.  She only had 18 months with us, but they were the best.

She was forever at my side, following me wherever I went, if only to sit beside me in the office, cuddle on the couch, watch me in the kitchen, or supervise my workouts!  Playing in the backyard with any one of her numerous balls or Frisbees, was a favorite pastime.  She was so full of smiles and energy & kisses!   I have never had so many sweet GSD kisses!  She loved her pool too.  She would romp around in the water, jumping in and out, then lay down smack in the middle, well that was when she wasn't attacking the garden hose that was filling it :).

Camping was another love of hers.  We'd get up before anyone else, head out for a walk or swim, then come back and make a pot of coffee over the campfire & wait for everyone to join us.  It was our together time.  In the evening, she'd let me know when she was tired, and I'll let her into the tent, where she'd head to our bed and curl up. She was a great bed warmer!  Always thinking of us ;).

We'll miss her GSD cries of excitement each time we came home.  Her wonderful smile and expressive, beautiful eyes.  She took her "grandparents" under her wing and watched over them, and I'm pretty sure the benefits of treats, snuggling on the sofa and someone to walk with a couple of times everyday, were completely beside the point :).

We only wish we had more time with her than a mere 18 months.  Codi gave us unquestioning love & loyalty.  Our home & lives are empty & we'll truly miss her.  She made an indelible mark on our hearts.    ~Bev & Dave

Thank you Kelly, for letting me know about Codi. What a tragedy, especially for her new owners, with Codi being their 2nd dog lost to cancer.

I loved Codi very very much, and the day I found out that she was placed in a perfect home I was thanking God. She deserved so much to spend the last part of her life living to the fullest. I owe so much gratitude to her owners.

Again, thanks for everything.

Beata (Codi's former owner)
