Jinny is currently in
boarding and needs a foster home immediately. A Shelter environment is
too much for this girl and she needs a home to settle out in.
Jinny is scared, skittish, and will be a work in progress, but she will
soooo be worth every effort. Seeing the turn around in dogs like this is
what makes rescue so rewarding.
She came in soaking wet and trembling with fear. She has a good heart
and will not hurt anyone. She will however, nip out of fear if you go
too fast, and for that reason we are looking for a calm home that has
breed experience.
We feel that Jinny was in a
home where she never got out to see the world. She has no social skills
right now, and is quite happy to remain that way, thank you very much.
Of course this can't be let to continue, and with patience,
understanding, love and some space, she will overcome this easily. She
wants to trust, and given the right opportunity, she will.
She is not a dog for the first time owner. She is also not a dog that we
will adopt outright. We are looking for a safe place that is dog savvy
to help Jinny overcome her fears and get her ready for adoption.
This could take some time, so commitment is essential.
We believe she will warm up quickly. If you are interested in fostering
or adopting Jinny, please contact us.

Update:
Hi Kelly,
I just wanted to let you know Jinny is adjusting well here, and
two long walks a day are doing me a world of good. She is very very
affectionate. We haven't had any negative events, so mutual
trust is building well. As you said, socialization is the biggest issue.
She is fearful of men and of dogs, so we are taking it a bit at a time
starting with the neighbors, with steady progress. If you have a moment
I would appreciate the name of that digestive helper you
mentioned.
She slept curled up on her bed beside our bed, never said a word all
night. So nice to reach down during the night and find a friendly nuzzle
there.
She is eating well. We have made a tour of the neighborhood this
morning; she seems good on the leash so far.
I notice she ducks her head when I reach to pet her from above, so
there must be some history there. Anyway, thanks, Kelly. We'll let you
know how things go.
Thanks again for your efforts.
best, Ted.
