Roddy was found by a young man at one of the work sites his crew was working at.  He was fully emancipated and so weak that all he could do was crawl on his belly towards them for help.

Some of the crew threw tomatoes at him and tried to chase him off. Roddy was too weak and too sick to run. This was his last attempt to get help.

Thank God that Dan was there that day… He scooped Roddy up and took him home, and tried to take care of him. When it became apparent that Roddy’s vet bills were going to be far too much for this young man to be able to provide, he called us.

Our vet discovered that Roddy had a severe infection in both ears. It had ruptured both his eardrums and eaten a hole into each side of his neck. The infection was constantly draining into his stomach and lungs. Our vet said it was the worst he had ever seen.

Roddy went into one of our more experienced foster homes, where he spent several months trying to regain his health and weight. Finally, he was whole again, and we were all elated.

His story made it around the globe, and animal lovers were all wiping their tears as he touched their hearts. Many sent in donations to help us with the enormous vet bills, and stayed in touch throughout his time with us.

Thank you to Dan for his caring heart and to Mondee & Trevor for all the health and love you gave Roddy!

Roddy was adopted March 12th 2005

After many, many months, Roddy's special people found him. We are overjoyed with the amount of opportunities and love that our special boy will get.
It was a sad day for us to see him go, but the happiness for Roddy far out weighted anything else.
Big thanks to the wonderful souls that heard about Roddy and came forward to help him from across Canada and the USA. He has so many angels looking out for him.
Special thanks to the wonderful people that opened their home to foster Roddy for the last 3 months. They gave him safety and love and a fresh start.

Thank you.
