Ben came to us from the local pound. Just a young boy and completely afraid of his own shadow.

On initial assessment, he seemed to be an easy going boy that was under socialized, having spent most of his life in a pen.

Ben was a little untrusting at first, but quickly warmed up and was eager to follow direction, which he does very well once he understands what it is that you are asking.

Ben is a very easy dog. He gets on well with the cats is now totally house broken and has learned a few basic obedience commands.

Ben would be an all round wonderful family companion

Ben was adopted on April 16th 2006 to a wonderful family in Chilliwack, who later came back and also opened their home to Tima.

Tima and Ben are very close friends and are very much enjoying their new life!

Thank you to Sharon & family for opening your hearts and home to not just one, but two of these special souls who needed you.

May you all enjoy years of happiness and good health.

Update from Ben's family:

We are all doing great!  Ben had a good ride home in the car and a really good night. He's a lovely boy, and fits in here like an old glove. He had an accident during the night and one whiz on the rug this morning, but he just hasn't quite figured out how to get our attention for such a specific thing when there is so much else new. We'll get that all figured out after a bit. He tried all the different beds out and settled mostly on mine for the long term.

He hasn't eaten since he arrived (but will eat a tiny bit of kibble if we hand feed him but seems a bit too uptight to eat from the dish right now.) I hope he eats soon cuz we want to start putting a bit of meat on those ultra-slender hips as soon as we can.

Miss Kitty was a tiny bit miffed at first, but Ben quietly stared at her for so long, she just had to check him out and decided he's okay as far as dogs go :)))) He wanted to play with her this morning but had to settle for a tail-wagging session instead.

Ben is being a perfect gentleman and we're head over heels in love with him and think the feeling is mutual.

Talk to you soon.

Sharon
