I like everyone and everything so far. I'm a little more on the submissive side (except with my bratty sister), but I do like to use my new found bark! I bark to announce when I am coming down the stairs (so that everyone can stay out of my way) and I bark for the sheer pleasure of it before I go back up them. I'll screech my head off at the slightest sign that something bad might be coming my way, like a foot that isn't watching where it's going, or a wall that popped out when I was running by, or even just a loud noise. Better to let everyone know ahead of time that I might be about to get hurt here! Better safe than sorry I say. Anyway, I'm looking for a new home too. I'd love to go with my sister, but they tell me I would be just fine (and probably live longer too) if I went somewhere without her. So I am game. I'd like a home that will treat me right, and keep my mind and body active. A family that can take in all the love I have to give and give me some right back. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I chew up things too!
| Hi, my name is
Brett! Am I not the most handsome boy you have ever seen? I am only
around 12 weeks old and very new to the rescue.
I've come into care with my sister Billie, who I see on her webpage has called me "chicken liver"! Whateeeeeeever. Just because I don't go sailing into danger doesn't mean I am chicken, it means I'm not stupid. She'd do better if she followed *my* lead, but she never does. She just prances out there like she owns the world or something. Seriously, who does she think she's talking about? She's not the boss of me! And I don't go running out after her to "grab a toy" she is having fun with. The fact of the matter is that it was my toy to begin with. I was playing with it this morning and I was just leaving it there for after my nap. 50 toys around this place and she HAS to pick the one that was mine. She knew it was mine, I know she did. So, more about me; I've been neutered, and they also poked me with that needle, and I had to eat the yucky yellow stuff. Good thing I guess, cause I had a tummy ache and then it went away.

September 2nd ~ Update. Well, my sister Billie went to her new home yesterday. I was pretty sad to see her go, but I have lots of other doggie friends here to keep me occupied. Spencer and I play really well together. I don't know why he hasn't found a home yet, cause it looks like I have! I have a really nice family wanting to add me to their home. I will be the very first dog they've ever owned, so we are all going to learn together and I won't have any broken hearts to compete with. I think I am going to be a little lonely at first, because they don't have any other animals, but they told me they are going to have other dogs that will come around to play with me! I'll keep you posted, but in the meantime, please consider giving my good buddy Spencer a home. He deserves one too!
Thank you to all of Brett's sponsors: Kelly & Derek McBean ~ August
Brett was adopted on September 5th to a wonderful family in Delta. Update:
Just a quick update to let you know
that Brett is just fine. He got car sick on the drive home so thanks
for the towels, they came in handy!
He's been playing in the yard with
Emily and Laura and he met my neighbor's lab last night too. Once they
got used to each other they played really well. We've been taking him
on short walks and last night he slept through the whole night without
a peep!
We are changing his name to Luke
and he's been responding to it quite well.
Thanks for everything,
Linda
