Chloe is a medium sized, short hair, brown and cream colored. She is 9 years old and is still apparently very active, and likes to go jogging with her people.
Unfortunately, Chloe is blind, and has been for about 3 years. |
She is extremely loving and affectionate to adult humans and other animals, including cats. She snuggles as well as any cat.
She is given human food very rarely and knows not to come near the table during mealtimes. For treats she gets Milk Bones, peanut butter in a Kong, and ice cubes -- she will eat ice cubes all day long if given the chance.
She growls at children (and did so even when she was sighted) when they approach her indoors, but is happy enough to approach them herself. Because the family has small children, they feel they must re-home Chloe.
Chloe needs a new home where she will be loved for just being her sweet self and helped through her senior years. In short, she needs a break.
Chloe is afraid of thunder and lightening, and fireworks, and will hide under things to get away from them. Because Chloe can't see, she panics at these loud booming sounds and will need a home that can support her through these stressful times.
Sometimes life cuts you a really raw deal, and for Chloe, she is losing out twice, once for her sight, and now for her family.
Please consider opening your heart and home to Chloe.
She is a special girl, with a lot of love to give and she just needs that one
special person to think she is the world, and to wrap their arms around her and
keep her safe and loved.
This is a courtesy listing for Chloe and her family. It is important to note that GSRBC has not met, nor assessed Chloe, and is merely screening applications and homes to help Chloe find a new caregiver.
***Chloe was adopted on December 8th 2006. She went to a home that her previous family chose. Chloe now has 2 GSDs around for company and it sounds like she loves them to pieces. Her new owner feeds a raw food diet, sleeps with them in her room, and works out of her house so she could be with the dogs all day. Chloe now has no children in her life, which is the way she has always wanted it.
We're happy to have played a small part in Chloe's future. Every dog deserves this second chance. All dogs deserve a life of value. Hugs to you Chloe! May your new life be all you ever wanted and more.
