Hi! My name is Houston.
I am about a year old and I am just about the sweetest boy you will ever meet.
I was up at the pound in .... you guessed it! Houston, BC and was literally in the truck and on my way to be euthanized when the GSRBC people called to save me. Thank goodness!

I have just arrived tonight (Dec.9th) to the lower mainland and tomorrow I will be going into the vet to be neutered and get my shots.
I am a very good boy, just a little shy at first. I'm a quick learner and I really want to please you, I just have to know what you want.
I am a small boy, weighing only 51lbs. Perfect size to curl up beside you on the couch.
I get along well with other dogs, and I am ok with cats but you have to remind me sometimes not to chase them when they run. Dang! That was a lot of fun too!

Tomorrow, I am off to my foster home they tell me. I'll keep you updated on how I do!

Houston was adopted by his foster family on March 25th 2006

Update March 2006:

Houston aka Wiley responds to his new name Wiley rather well. It's like it was his name or sounds similar. He is easy to teach new things to and learns manners fast as well as house rules. He is secure in his room and likes to defend his room from unwanted guests like Hero the Moose dog. He likes to play and chase him off. Then he runs back to the spot where he was. So if Hero is at the back door and Wiley is too, Hero will engage him in play and Wiley will play this bite the face and turn Hero in circles and then chase him off like a true herding dog or at least that's what he thinks. Hero also herds but grabs his tail and then the chase is on!

Wiley seems very serious at times but likes the comfort of the couch and loves his brows stroked till he falls asleep in your lap and boy is he cozy. Wiley is curious of my son Darcy, and likes to follow him around and is very careful not to get under anyone's feet. He is curious about the cats and so is Hero. Together they can instigate the cats to run, but on his own he likes to follow them to see where they go! He's very quick on the recall and will zoom right back at your feet with good eye contact and what else do you want me to do sorta thing.

He is a love and very sweet. I like him. He is the most grateful boy. He loves car rides and is a breeze to walk after Hero or even my Ms Raven who can still pull with only two front legs. He is not sure about balls or toys to chew on rather he likes a bone and likes to explore. Loud noises are still a bit bothersome, but not to the point that he pees and runs to his room. He is a little shy around new things still and is cautious while exploring his new digs. He eats well and runs like the wind! Fast little guy!

He's great here and we are so happy to have him.

Thank you to all of Houston's sponsors:
