Maxi is an 18 month old female, who unfortunately, has not had the best start in life. She came into our care in December of 2005.

In her short little life, she was sold to an elderly couple with health issues that could not take care of her. She has spent her entire life inside one house. She has not been walked, socialized nor properly housetrained.

Our hearts go out to Maxi.

When she arrived, she was immobilized with fear. Her little world had been completely turned upside down and she was beside herself. She did not understand where her people had gone, nor why everything in her life had disappeared.

Maxi is a beautiful girl, who is easily scared. We have learned she also had been tied to a fridge for a lot of her life, as her owners were unable to deal with the energy of a young GSD pup.  Right now, everything scares her, and we will help her to build some solid confidence in herself and the world around her.

She has been great with the other dogs, the kids and her foster Mom. She is still however, unsure and afraid of her foster Dad, but he's pretty good at winning the hearts of the girls that come through. :)

Maxi has come a long way in her short time with us. She is more outgoing, but still does run to her crate for safety at times.

She has some bad manners, like counter surfing, thieving items around the house and being a little pushy with the other dogs at times. Still, she is learning, and it is all a process. In time Maxi will settle out to be a wonderful girl.

Maxi will need a home where someone is home with her during the day. She is not strong enough within herself to be alone for long hours. Obedience training is a requirement of Maxi's new home. This is not just to teach her some manners, but also to establish a deeper and more understanding relationship with her new people.

Like mot Shepherds, Maxi bonds completely to one person in her life. While she will love all her family members, she will be solely devoted to one.

Maxi is spayed and UTD on her shots. She is ready for adoption to someone that is willing to take on the commitment she needs.

Maxi was adopted on February 2nd 2006
