Tikka came to us from the local
pound. A mere pup, she was left to roam the streets, until Animal
Control came and picked her up. She was was kept at the pound for her
holding period, in hopes her family would come looking for her. No one
came to claim this little love, and we were asked to assist in her
placement.
Unfortunately, we didn't get much of a say where this girl went, but we were asked to use our contract to finalize the adoption since she was not spayed. Tikka was adopted out to a home the did not take care of her, and she was found running down a busy road, dragging a tie out behind her. Lucky for Tikka, we had the contract, and we had her spayed and tattooed. Thankfully, her tattoo remained registered to us. This enabled a kind passerby to pick Tikka up and trace her back to GSRBC. We immediately went and got her. It was heartbreaking to see the condition this girl was in. She was filthy, starving, and head shy. She broke our hearts, and we refused to give her back to the people that had adopted her. Tikka was placed into a foster to adopt home while GSRBC began the legal battle to keep Tikka with us and safe. The family claimed to care about Tikka, but it was clear by all accounts, that they did not. When the court date came, the family that claimed to love her so much, didn't bother to show up, and the case was thrown out. |
Tikka now lives with her new Mom, and the heart-throb of the house, Beretta. Tikka & Beretta are in love!! Her new Mom is always sending us pictures of the two of them snuggled up together. It seems that Tikka just can't keep her paws off this handsome fella. Ha ha!
This time, we got it right, and Tikka has found her place in this world where she belongs. Our sincere apologies to Tikka for not pulling her directly into our care the first time and finding her the proper home.
Tikka is a shining example as to why it is so important to get it right the first time.
