Now, I don't want to give you the wrong impression about me! I am, after all, still a puppy! And I plan on getting into everything that I can, and will likely chew up a bunch of stuff, and will pee all over the place to start!

Don't I sound like a bunch of fun? Ha ha. Actually, I am a very cute and funny girl. I love to crawl up in your lap and take your face in my paws and stare deeply into your eyes. I have loads of kisses to give and expect the same in return.

I'm playful and loving, even if a bit more cautious than my siblings.

I have met a variety of other dogs in my foster home. Big ones too! Man those dogs German Shepherds have a lot of big teeth!

Just wait, cause one day I will have big teeth too, instead of these sharp little needles, and then I will tell them all what for!

I've now been given my first set of puppy shots and have been spayed, so thankfully, I can not ever have babies! I am healing up well and am all ready go go to my new home. The GSRBC people are still accepting applications, so please get yours in if you are interested in being my people!

I'm now 10 weeks old!

Hi! My name is Brooklyn. I was born June 5th 2007 at 8:57am, weighing 1.3lbs. I was the 3rd one born, and I came quietly, and easily into this world.

I'm a very laid back girl, with a happy-go-lucky temperament. I'm not as rambunctious and boisterous as my brothers and sisters.  I prefer the quiet life, and lots of snuggles and love. I am much more cautious than my brothers and sisters, and will need careful exposure to my new environment. I take things much more seriously, and will need someone to continue to socialize me, guide me and keep me safe from the big bad world..

I'm a pretty soft and easy girl, and likely not a girl that will like to be doing a lot of agility or heavy exercise.  I would much prefer to just have a calm home, laying at someone's feet and soaking up a bunch of love.

I would like a home with no children, as I don't enjoy them the same way as everyone else does.  I want a home that has lots of time for me, and will give me some general obedience and help me learn some manners as I grow.

What I really want, is just to have my own people, and be deeply loved for who I am, for all of my days.  That is what we all want, and I am pretty sure that the nice folks here at GSRBC are going to make sure we get it too!

I hear they have a tough process to get through, but they sure think I am worth it.  I know my new family will think so too.

In the next week or so, I will be spayed and will be ready to go to my new home! I'm still looking for my special people, so please get your application in, if you are interested in adopting me!

Thank you to all Brooklyn's Sponsors!

Brooklyn was adopted September 30th 2007

Update ~ Christmas 2007

Hi everyone at GSRBC!

Me and my shadow ( alias Brooklyn) are doing really well! She has been playing well with Shelby - they are bonding as well, and has decided that my staff are part of the family, so the growling and barking has stopped in the office. She is taking Shelby's lead really well, and has learned to wait at the door after being outside to get her paws wiped ( as Shelby does)

NEW TRICK!! she now knows how to Shake a Paw!! She is good with hand signals to sit and shake a paw - we will start on down, then stay shortly. She has brand new martingale collar and matching leash so we are starting on the heal on leash during walks - although she is pretty good already considering her age!

The cats are saying up high for the time being, although I was shocked to find my little Salem ( the black  timid cat) was sleeping on one side of me and Brooklyn on the other yesterday morning! Unheard of for Salem!!  I need to consider getting a MUCH larger bed now, cause if Shelby decides to join the slumber party there will be no room for me....

All that to say that she is settling in better than I could have hoped for with all the pets and the people in our lives. She is still a little shy around new people, but that's to be expected.
She is getting  a bit fussy on her food - last two days she refused breakfast, and insisted on eating Shelby's dinner ( don't' worry - it's the same food!) Last night I added some canned Tuna to convince them to eat. Success! They also enjoyed two big beef bones for dessert! Shelby is really liking the "perks" she has with having a little sister, and has even allowed her to lie on  her office bed - something she was not prepared to let happen the first couple of days....

I can't figure out yet how to train her not to bark at her reflection in my bedroom sliding door mirror yet! She seems convinced that there's another dog in the room!!
