I will probably get into a lot of mischief while I grow; the usual puppy things such as chewing, digging and barking .... and just generally being an adorable nuisance until I learn "the ropes".

It is important that my mind and body are both stimulated as I grow.  I think I should go to puppy school and then later even some more obedience classes so I can show off all the new things that I will learn.

I have lots of energy. as puppies do, and I don't want to be left alone all day.  So I am looking for a family where at least one person is home full time.  I need a home that will take me to lots of new places and help me to learn to get along with people of all sizes and other animals too.  Going to different places and experiencing lots of different situations will help me build confidence.

If you are willing to spend lots of time with me I know that I will be the perfect companion for a long time.

Hi! My name is Cheerio!. I was born June 5th 2007 at 8:22am, weighing 1.2lbs. I was the 1st one born, and wasted no time coming into this world.

I am not the cutest thing in the world???

I was born here at GSRBC and have had tremendous care.  My foster mom carefully looks after us by making sure we have good food, excellent vet care and lots of playtime to explore our new world.  I love to play with my other seven brothers and sisters and all the big dogs here at GSRBC.

I think that one of these knuckle head German shepherds would like to be my mom, but he doesn't have the right parts. I know, I checked!

I know I am a 'retriever' but I don't have much of a retrieving drive in me. I may get the ball a time or two for you, but I'm not much for long hours of ball.

I prefer to chew on your toes, and pull your hair and then bat my baby blues at you so that you can't possibly be mad at me! I am already learning how that can work in my favor!

I hear they have a tough process to get through, here at GSRBC, but they sure think I am worth it.  I know my new family will think so too.

In the next week or so, I will be neutered and will be moving into my new home! I've met my new family and they are totally over the moon for me!

Thanks everyone who applied to adopt me. I have found my special place in this world! I am off to my brand new life!

From Cheerio's new home:

Cheerio is doing quite well.  He howled and whined last night in the car for about 15 minutes then settled down for the rest of the drive home.  Last night he cried for 5 minutes when we put him in the crate at bed time - then quieted down for sleep....much easier than we had expected.

Today he is doing great.  He LOVES to eat - we can tell that already.  He is very interested in everything in the kitchen.  He has played - and peed - outside quite a few times already today.  He likes many of the toys we have for him and has found a few toys that were Taitums (she has graciously allowed him to keep two of them.)  He's been for a short little walk - was a bit nervous of all the noises outside but was pretty good on the leash.  Right now he is watching Shrek2 with Taitum and seems a bit tired so maybe he'll have a nap.

He he adjusted quite well to his new home but we know he misses everyone at your house as he does whine for you guys every now and again.
