Joni is a very smart, and focused girl. She would be great at tracking or just being a family pet in a home that will give her something to do. It is important to note that Joni is not a over-the-top, bounce off your forehead kind of girl. We do not want to give you that impression at all, because she isn't. But she is a girl with a lot of potential, who would be an excellent candidate for someone who wanted a dog to do things with. Whether that is tracking, obedience competition, herding, agility or any other sport. She is very versatile, and just needs to strengthen her bond with people. Joni is not a push over, and we would prefer that she go to a home that understands the breed, and is looking for that 'total' GSD package. This is your girl! GSRBC is seeking an immediate foster home, or adoptive home for this girl. Our spaces are full, and we need to get this her out of the shelter. Joni is currently with Reuben, in a local pound with little space. They bother are becoming stressed in this chaotic environment and need out as soon as possible. They have spent their whole lives together, but we are more than willing to separate them, as it would likely help Joni focus on her people a little more. If you can offer this girl a safe haven, please contact us today!

Joni
is a lovely, PB spayed female. She's very nice to people, and really wants
someone to call her own. Housetrained and kind-hearted, she's been waiting
a long time for her life to begin. She likes other dogs, but prefers boy
dogs. She's a little too sensitive about having her feet touched for small
children, so she should have a slightly more grown up family.
Joni is more easily stimulated and would do well in a working home with someone that is going to "do" something with her and give her a job. In the past, due to boredom, she has kept herself busy by chasing bugs in the sunlight. While this is not currently a fixation, it easily could be if she is not redirected with something to do. Reuben and Joni were picked up by animal control not long ago, and are in desperate need of a foster or adoptive home. They would love to go together, but will do just fine on their own.
She also appears to be housetrained, and in
very good health.
Adopted! Everything went wonderful!! What a change in her personality. She follows us around everywhere and seems to be bonding very quickly. She loves the food and seems to be taking the diet change well. She went on a number of walks throughout last night as I wanted to make sure she had no accidents. Every time she whined in her crate I got up to take her for a quick walk. I think she is settling in well and seems happy. Getting much more friendly and no bug chasing as of yet!! We have changed her name to Nika and are now working on getting her to know her name. We are now learning how to train her to track and want to start on the training part. Will keep in touch and let you know how things are going. Thanks Jason and Francesca |
