Hi! I'm Josie! I'm was about
10 months old, when GSRBC came and brought me into their care.
I was originally picked up by the local pound after my family moved and left me behind. I was so scared, and didn't know where they went or what I should do now. So I stayed in the area, hoping that they would realize they had forgotten me, and come back to get me. For weeks I was so hungry, so I tried to find my own food in people's garbage. Everywhere I went, people were yelling at me and chasing me away. I've come to learn that people aren't very nice to me. I don't know why, I am a nice girl. I was just so hungry. I wish they would of just given me some food and let me in until my family could find me again. After weeks of being chased out of yards and away from homes, I decided to just stay away from people all together. Then some men in uniforms started chasing me, and I was really scared! Why were they chasing me, and what were they going to do to me if they caught me? I don't know, but I was tired and hungry and cold and wet. One night, as luck would have it, there was a big plate of food inside this great big box. I decided to take a chance and get that food. As soon as I went in, WHAM! The door came down and I was trapped. Holy man, was I ever scared. |
| The next day the men in the
uniforms came to the box. I didn't know what their intentions were going
to be, so I tried my very best to scare them away. I showed them my big
teeth and barked and growled and tried to make myself as big as I possibly
could, but they just wouldn't let me go.
They took me to a very scary place. It was cold and dark, and their were other dogs there that barked and cried all night. I was so scared, that I did not want to come out of the back of this concrete room they put me in. Every time someone would come to the front of my room, I would look to see if it was my family, but it never was. I was so sad, I just wanted to go home. I made a friend though. One of the men in uniform kept coming in to see me. He seemed kind, he seems like he wasn't going to hit me or yell at me, so I decided he was ok and I would stick with him. The lady from GSRBC came in to see another dog that was in here (Jerry), and she took him out of here. She stopped in to see me, and I thought she was pretty great too. I came up to the front to see her, cause I felt bad that she had all those tears in her eyes. She whispered to me "I'll be back for you", and then she left. I was so lucky to get a foster home just before Christmas! Thank you to Angel and Grant for opening your hearts and home to me! I wasn't there too long though, and got a home of my own for Christmas! My person and I are the perfect match. She needed me, just as much as I needed her, and we are going to have a long and happy life together! |

I am the luckiest dog in the world! I went from being left behind and not mattering, to having a home and a special person all to myself. She thinks the world of me, I can tell.
So I will let you all know how I am doing from time to time. Thanks for helping me, and sponsoring me so that I could be spayed right away. I gotta go now... it's almost time for my walk.
Thank you so much to Josie's sponsors:
