Chance loves going to the dog park, and travels quite well in the car. He's also good with the cats in his foster home - curious, but not overly so. He is quite happy to leave them for a cuddle on the couch. He is still leery of the crate, but is not finding it quite so scary now that he gets his yummy raw food fed to him in it! Chance hasn't had even one accident in the house, not even the initial stress one! He is very clean and tries so hard to please you. So far, he's sticking to his foster mom like glue and is very attentive. Whoever gets this big love is going to have a VERY loyal dog. He seems to have the best of both breeds, AND he's cute to boot! Who could resist those very soulful eyes!?!
Special Thank you to all Chance's sponsors!

Chance is a young male, Dane/ shepherd mix, about
9 months old (Mar/08). He looks pretty serious in these pictures, but he
has a kind face and he is a big playful puppy. He's about 65 pounds and
will fill out as he gets some good food in him and as he matures. Right
now, he is grossly underweight.
Chance is good with other dogs and really enjoys their company. He was also good with children, but he is still very much a child himself, so older children would be better because they could better enjoy playing with Chance He LOVES to snuggle, and he has to be as close to you as possible at all times. Due to Chance's past, of being locked in a garage, he has developed a bit of separation anxiety, but it is already getting better in just the short time he has been with us. He is getting used to being alone for a few minutes at a time, and learning that people do indeed come back...
Update from Chance's foster home:
Chance has settled in really well.
The 1st night he whistled ( he doesn't whine - sounds more like a teapot)
in his crate, so the next night I decided to let him sleep in my room. I
wasn't even half way into bed and he was crowding up beside me! He's
a bed hog and he snores, but he sleeps all night without a peep. :)
He has a bit of separation anxiety.
He has to be with me always, even if it is just going out of the room and
coming back, so we're working on that. He goes happily into the crate now,
as that is where he eats, and he loves the raw food!
He's now okay to be left for a few minutes in the car (while I rush back into the house to get what I've forgotten), but he's a little scared of entering and exiting the vehicle, almost like he's expecting to be hit.
My nieces and nephew, aged 2, 7
& 9, were over, and he was calm and interested, and very gentle. He is
also good with the cats, no chasing - wants to play a bit but leaves
when told without a fuss.
He is quite laid back in the house,
quite content to sleep the day away on the couch, as long as it is beside
me! He is good with all the dogs he has met at the dog park, and
loves to get cuddles from everyone. We are working on taking treats
nicely, as he tends to engulf your whole hand.
That's about it, for now, other than
to say he is one of the snuggliest dogs I have ever met!
