Logan is neutered, house trained, and up to date on his shots. He has had a vet check and appears to be healthy as a horse, and is as head strong as one too! He is a big strong dog. (weighing in at a solid mass of 94lbs), and absolutely enjoys being part of a 'pack'. He loves to play with the other dogs, and has quite a dry sense of humor with people. He knows leash manners when you insist that he know them. :) He will benefit from further obedience training. At this time, Logan is NOT available for adoption. Once we help him to overcome some of his fears and become more socialized, we will place him in the home that suits him best. So please check back!

This beautiful, German bred boy is very easy on the eyes, and would stop any GSD lover in their tracks! He appears to be much younger than originally thought, and we would not put him at more than 2 years old, if that. GSRBC was called to assist this boy as he was showing some fear and stress related behavior in the shelter, and did not appear to be coming around, despite the shelters best efforts. He has only been with us for a very short time (March 14th), but already we can see this boy is going to do just fine and will thrive in foster care. He responds well to firm, fair, calm and consistent leadership. We were told that Logan displayed quite a bit of fearful behavior in the shelter, and we can certainly see how this would be the case, as he does startle at times. He is already making great progress, and gets along well with all the dogs, both male and female. He is still a little unsettled, which is to be expected. Over the next few weeks, we will get to know Logan much better and be able to find out more about him. At this point, we know that he is much more comfortable with women than he is with men, but with a little more socialization, he will be just fine.
June 29th 2008 Well, we didn't think that Logan was quite ready for his new home, but he readily has picked his own people, and he picked them well! |

This is truly a great match, and Logan will move into his new home July 5th! Yay for Logan! It only gets better from here! Thank you to everyone who showed an interest in adopting this special boy. Logan has found his special place in this world, and we are all over-joyed! Thank you once again to Gerry, Tim & Zeeva, for opening up your great big hearts to help another needy soul.
Special thank you to all Logan's sponsors:

July 2008 Update!
This morning we only had to have his lead
with us for him to follow us around and after our outing to town today
he's happy to just follow us. He's laying down behind me fast asleep.
We are amazed that "even men"
just approach him and although Logan is cautious, he rarely backs
off.
Sitting outside Starbucks today having a
caffeine fix, the old folks on the next table were just smitten! We
think he might be learning to turn on the charm to get attention. He was
well behaved though.
We are working hard at his walking on a
lead, did he used to be a steam train in a previous life? As soon as he
sees the car (any car really) head down and pull.
We have to thank both of you for giving
us a chance to bring Logan into our hearts and home.
Ray, Pauline and Logan.
