Adopted!!!

Right now, maybe it's because I'm so confused, I'm too protective about things I think are mine — socks, toys, etc. I don't even want my doggy friends to touch them, and I don't want any humans or dogs touching my food. For that reason, even though I like children, my foster mom wants me in an adult home only, and obedience training will be an absolute must with a signed agreement.

I'm just about 5 months old, and am working on my house training, but admit... I still make mistakes. I've been spayed and am up to date on my shots, and am starting to gain some much needed weight!

I'm the typical puppy full of energy with a touch of attitude to go with it. I love to chase the other dogs  around to try to catch their tails. I really love Chaos! She has been showing me the ropes, and we are becoming good friends.

March 2008 ~ Update from Phoebe's foster:

Phoebe is coming along very nicely. She loves to carry toys/stinky socks etc in her mouth, and will parade them all over to show off her new findings.

Although she may be a little tyke compared to the other dogs in her foster family, she can rough play with the big guys just fine and hold her own!  Smart, eager, brave, or bold she is willing to please you.

Phoebe picks up on all the cues, and has learned to respect her the other dog's food dish! She loves her tummy rubs and snuggles. She leans into you and gives back every bit of love she gets.

Phoebe is curious about cats and will chase but that is about as far as she goes. The cats keep her in line and she learns quickly!

Phoebe is also learning not to worry about her food so much and is slowing down when she eats. This has been Phoebe's biggest battle to over come. Given where she came from and her history, it is certainly understandable. But growling is not allowed, and she is learning what is acceptable. She now has lots of food and there is no need to guard it from the world! She does at times still puts on a show, but then she roles over on her belly, and gives up. She is still a pup and needs some firm no in this area .

Phoebe is crate trained and coming along with house training very well! She is still having little accidents, but only two times this last  two weeks. so that is a huge accomplishment on her part! She loves car rides, is friendly with most dogs, but hesitant with some younger children. She does well with kids that are respectful.

She plays ball, fetches, and makes great eye contact. Phoebe loves to give tiny kisses and then puts her head down on your lap, flashing those pretty brown eyes at you. As she cats her charms,  all you can do is love her up and hug her to bits! She is just too cute and so soft! She has the most beautiful coat, with amazing markings and now even enjoys being brushed!

Phoebe deserves the very best as she believes she is a princess, fit for a castle so a dog savvy home with people who know how to be a natural and patient leader is essential for this little queen wanna-be.

As it turns out, Phoebe has hidden talents that we never knew about! She also does a bang up job at cleaning windows!!

Hello, my name is Phoebe and I am a really sweet girl. I was found as a stray with my mom and dad, after our owners dumped us out in hemlock valley...

I was saved from the shelter, and my foster mom is glad cause she says I'm too good of a dog, and will make someone a nice loving family member. I'm the kind of gal that loves you right away when I first meet you!

I was never well socialized but my great temperament makes up for it, and I am pretty much just a snuggle muffin..

I'm still a little sad and confused about all the changes that have happened to me in the past few weeks, and I miss my mom and dad. But my foster family is real nice and giving me lots of love, and I sure have a lot of doggy friends here to play with.

I'm very mellow, and I even smile when you scratch my chest. I pull a bit on the leash, but my foster mom thinks that it is just because I'm lost right now and not sure about what I should do.

I don't know why my former owners abandoned me and my family in the bush, and left us to fend for ourselves. Naturally, now I don't want to be left in the house alone, so my foster parents let me stay in my crate whenever they are away. I like my crate and I never make a fuss. When I come out I am very happy and like to run and give kisses. I would love it if my forever home had someone at home most of the day.

I love car rides, swimming, walks, tummy rubs, and being with my foster family. I am content to be with my family while they are watching TV or working around the house. I keep an eye on the front door, but I don't bark very much.. I have excellent house manners, know basic commands, learn quickly and I want to please.

I am a sweet girl, very easy to love, and I am looking for a forever home and someone who will promise to never leave me.

May 2008 ~ Update from Phoebe's foster:

Phoebe is growing up to be quite a little lady.

She LOVES the water and is very eager to explore life. Phoebe is getting bigger and weighs almost 40lbs now! She is growing taller, and is almost  21 inches at the shoulder.

Phoebe is about 8 months now and is still such a puppy. She is great in public but is still shy around exuberant children. She is all about snuggles and kisses with those she knows, and sure does love her car rides!

June 2008 - Update

Phoebe is a bouncy girl who LOVES to play and run around making strange sounds like the Wookie from Star Wars.  She is easy to walk and thinks everyone is her friend.
Phoebe is assertive with other dogs, but would rather play than start a confrontation.  She is eating very nicely, quietly and more slowly now.  When she is given a bone, she takes it away to chew rather than staring down the other dogs.  She is starting to understand that she will always have enough to eat.
Phoebe is a smart girl who enjoys learning and does well in obedience.  She makes great eye contact and is totally focused on her person.  She tries hard to please and is so proud and happy when she does the right thing.  She will thrive in an active home with lots of walks, play and mental exercise.  Give her jobs to do or teach her to dance - this girl is up for anything!
Phoebe is ready for her forever home and is waiting eagerly for her new family to come forward.

Look at pretty Phoebe now at 8 months! What a stunner she is going to be!

She has recently been enjoying obedience classes and is doing extremely well. She picks up on things easily, as she is a very smart girl.

Phoebe still  loves to watch the cats and will chase them if they run, however she is learning that is not a game that we prefer to play. Phoebe loves other dogs and is a happy go lucky girl. She is just a sweet, smart  and loving girl who has great potential and deserves the very best.

Adopted!!

Two days after we sent out our newsletter, letting everyone know that this special girl was still looking for that very special home, we received an amazing application from Claire & Paul.

We are happy to report that Phoebe has now found her special place in this world. We are overjoyed with  Phoebe's placement, and know that she will always be very well loved, taken care of and part of the family.

Phoebe's family is over the moon for her, and are so very excited to have her home with them, and are looking forward to a long and happy relationship with this very special girl.

Pheebs is missed already tonight, but knowing she got the very best home possible makes it much easier to let her go.

Thank you once again, to Angel and family for opening your hearts and your home, to give this little one a paw up.

Special Thank you to all Phoebe's sponsors:
