Sage is not quite sure what to make of other dogs coming around her. She has not been socialized to them in her past, and it shows. She can be a little growly at first, but corrects easily and is willing to take good direction from her person. She enjoys chasing and retrieving the ball, and will bring it back and drop it at your feet. Then she looks for reassurance that all is still ok in the world. While Sage is learning to live with other dogs and will be relaxed and playing with them in no time, she does have some moderate prey drive and would not be a good match in a home with cats. She loves people of all sizes and is just as happy to get a hug from a child as she is a man or woman. Sage will bond deeply to her family and will make a wonderful companion. However, she is not a dog for a first time dog owner. Her people will need to have some knowledge of the breed and be able to continue on in her socialization and obedience training. Once Sage settles out more over the next few weeks, we will update her page, so please check back on her!

Sage has just arrived
into our care (May 25th) from the Smithers area.
She appears to be around 18 - 24 months old, and will be spayed this week. She is currently not house trained, but will pick this up easily enough. She is one smart cookie and very eager to please. Sage is a little insecure right now, having lost her home and family and then enduring a stay in the local pound. All of this has been very hard on Sage, but luckily she had two guardian angels looking out for her. Special thanks to Lorna and Jean for all you do for the dogs in your area, and especially the great lengths you went to, to help us help Sage. She is going to do just fine!
ADOPTED!
Special Thanks to all Sage's fosters:
