We would love to see Tracker go to a home where there is another dog to play with, and to help him with his confidence in this big bad world of ours. He will, of course do fine in a home without one, but he could easily lose that socialization with other dogs if he did.

Tracker has a heart of gold and desperately wants to belong. Certain things still spook him a bit, but with the direction of the other dogs, he copes very well.

Tracker would do well in a home with patient people, with a gentle hand and lots of love to give. This little boy is still young, and has much to learn. He will, in no time, learn to trust people and become a strong and confident adult.

He is still very much a puppy, and will chew up your shoes, etc if you leave them out, so be prepared! More and more, he is learning what is dog things and what is people things.

Tracker is not ready to be left loose in the house unattended and must be either crated, or kept in a room that is not too precious. He loves his crate and zooms for it every night at bed time. He has no problems with the door being closed, and is happy and content to sleep through the night.

Tracker is looking for a foster home to carry on his socialization while he waits for his new people to come and find him. If you are able to foster Tracker, or are interested in adopting him, please contact us.

Then, oh my goodness!  Tracker had to actually go into the store!  The owners of this pet store are always really, really nice and they were very understanding when Tracker crouched down and tried to hide.  They helped pick out a brand new collar (with matching leash, of course, cuz a fella needs to look sharp!) as well as some more toys.  They offered him various goodies to try, and gave him his own bag of gourmet dog treats to take home.  He may be shy, but he's still a charmer!

Then Tracker walked by the grocery store where Girl Guides were selling cookies.  His foster mom is a Guider too and knew some of the girls and leaders - so of course she had to stop and talk!  All the girls wanted to pet Tracker, but once they knew why he was so timid, they gave him space and just talked gently to him.
Finally it was time to head for home.  Even without training, Tracker walks nicely on a leash with very little pulling.  He just needs a chance to get out and about and gain some confidence.  He's not afraid of men in particular, just very wary of people he doesn't know.

He really likes Tasha, so sometimes we call Tasha first and then Tracker, and he will follow to be near her.  Tasha is a very calm and confident girl who is not afraid of people, dogs, traffic or loud noises, so we're planning to walk them together.  Tracker has been with a lot of dogs in both his foster homes, and he is very comfortable with them.  Now we're giving him a chance to be around a lot of different people, and with some patience and encouragement he will do very well.

Tracker came into the care of GSRBC after a land seizure was done up north, and the Sheriff found 45 dogs chained up on the property. After seeking some assistance from the local animal welfare societies, all 45 dogs found themselves at Turtle Gardens.

Two of our volunteers drove up to Burns Lake to assist, and brought back Kiera and Tracker. Both are very friendly and we feel, very adoptable dogs.

For a boy that has never been socialized and lived chained to a dog house his whole life, he is doing amazingly well! From what we understand, when the rescue people went in to get these dogs, no one could get near this poor boy, he was so afraid. They ended up having to nail him into his dog house and transport him, dog house and all, to the new location.

Imagine how terrified he must of been! The reality is that Tracker is a very gentle, submissive boy that gets along with people of all ages, including children, and would make an excellent family companion. He is gentle and affectionate, willing to please and playful.

Tracker is about 6 - 7 months old. He has been neutered, is up to date on his shots, and is house trained. He is good on leash, and has started some very basic obedience, (mostly confidence building) and is very much enjoying that.

While still shy around strangers, he is coming around very quickly! He is good with other dogs, and plays well with them.

Tracker is an exceptional dog.  He is funny, very playful, loves other dogs  and is up for just about whatever is going on as long as he can do so slowly, and be allowed to come on his own terms. He is still very shy at times.

Tracker was invited to spend some time with Keira at her foster home.   He was pretty nervous because he had no idea what was in store for him, but both he and Kiera were very happy to see each other again.  Lots of licks and tail wagging!  Long lost buddies :)

The resident dogs gave him a friendly welcome too, and everyone got along just fine.
All of the dogs have had a great time playing outside in the snow, and it was really great to see
Kiera having a  young dog to run around with.

Tracker went for a walk - probably his first ever real walk on a leash in a public area.  No worries about leash manners, lots of time to stop and sniff all the wonderful smells.   We started out slowly on quiet side streets, then made our way to the pet store at the plaza.  Traffic didn't seem to bother Tracker - even when buses and big trucks roared by.  But someone standing on the other side of the street frightened him, and he was very reluctant to walk by people standing at the bus stop.   When people passed him on the sidewalk, he hid behind his foster mom.  Still, everyone was very kind and encouraging when they heard Tracker's story.
