ADOPTED!!!

Izzy March

Izzy now

However, she is the easiest girl to love, makes great eye contact, would sell her soul just for a hug, and while energetic, she also settles well. She loves to play with the other dogs, but right now, she tires easily as she just doesn't have the energy to keep up with them.

Her favorite new friend is Cargo. Rare for two females to be so in tune with each other, but here it is. They really get on great together and where Izzy lacks, Cargo shows the way.

Izzy is already spayed and we were told she was about 2 years old, but we wouldn't put her more than 10 months old.

She has had a vet check and other than the malnutrition, she appears to be healthy. She has some sort of a rash, likely from fleas in her previous location, and we are currently treating that.

Izzy would LOVE to have have a foster home to hang out in and learn how to be a house dog. She is currently in boarding at 25/day at our onsite kennels.

Any sponsorships to help Izzy with food and housing would be greatly appreciated!

As sad as it is to see such a beautiful gem of a girl in this state, we are so thankful she is with us and are happy to help her get healthy again and find that great home and promising future.

Welcome to GSRBC Izzy. It's only up from here. We promise.

Izzy & Cargo having SOOO much fun!

Izzy trying to figure out what the heck this is for..

Izzy has come to us from Taiwan, through the same group of people that helped to save Anya and May. However, Izzy did not have the same luck as the two previous girls.

When we were contacted about May & Anya, we were able to assist fairly quickly. Unfortunately for Izzy, our President fell and broke her ankle and intake of dogs had to stop for a while.

Poor Izzy was sent to a camp where at least 600 other dogs were stored, waiting for their turn at a future. Izzy was crated for 4 months, and only let out for 20 minutes each day. Izzy is now the shell of the dog that we saw pictures and videos in March.

She is emaciated to the point that she is completely flat. She has no muscle tone, and someone must of forgotten to feed her along the way.  Izzy has slowly starved these past many months.

In spite of good intentions, this is *NOT* rescue.  Rescue is supposed to be more than just grabbing dogs and housing them somewhere. rescue is not supposed to be doing more damage. Ever. Period.

Yes, we understand that things are very bad there, and while we appreciate all efforts to save animals, the reality is that if you are hurting instead of helping, then perhaps helping them to pass on would be a better way. This... is unacceptable.  Izzy is about 40lbs underweight and she got that way *after* she was saved.

In spite of almost dying of starvation, Izzy is a sweet and loving girl. She currently eats with a frenzy and is getting many small meals a day. Weight gain will be slow and easy while we work on her muscle tone to strengthen her belly muscles to be able to support larger amounts of food again.

Here, she is happy. She is having the time of her life and completely loves being around the other dogs. She easily submits to them and wants no problems.

She is lacking manners due to her lack of socialization and currently jumps up, trips over your feet, and trips you in the process! She counter surfs, gets in the garbage looking for any morsel of food she can find, messes on occasion in her kennel room, and whines when she is lonely.

August 24th 2009 ~ Adopted!!!

Our big hearted, beautiful girl was adopted and is off to see the big city lights of the north shore! She is missed greatly around here by all of us, but no one more than Cargo. Hopefully they will get to see each other again one day, as truer friends, we've never seen.

Enjoy the good life Izzy! You certainly earned it!

September 24th 2009 ~ Update!!

Izzy has been going to swimming lessons and learning how to swim! She was terrified at first, but by the second lesson, she took right to it and now is enjoying it immensely!

Her and Tocai are racing around the place and are already fast friends! Izzy even gets on well with the cat!!  YAY for Izzy!!

Special thanks to all of Izzy's sponsors! Thank you for helping her along the way!:
