Lexy & Cody love each other far to much to be separated at this stage in their lives. The shelter is looking for a great home for them where they can stay together. Far too often these dogs are at our mercy, and they get no choice in where they end up in their lives. Thank you to the staff at Delta for going above and beyond to hold these two together! GSRBC is actively looking for a foster or an adoptive home for these two needy souls, who have found themselves homeless in their retirement. No dog deserves that.. but two seniors make it even harder to understand. It won't be easy for the shelter to find these two a home together. It's hard enough for one senior dog, never mind two. We're hoping that a great home, with a huge heart will come along and offer this couple a safe place to land for the rest of their lives.

Lexy and Cody have been surrendered to the
Delta Community Animal Shelter.
They are both 8 years old and are a very bonded pair. They spent most of their time outside together and really love each other to bits. They aren't great with other dogs but aren't too concerned about them as long as they aren't pestered. They have a bit of a prey drive - cats and small animals would not be a good match.
On the other side of things, they are SO
lovely with people, and really easy to handle!
They walk nicely together and are just really well mannered. These two are a dream to work with, and it seems like their previous owners did do some work with them. The shelter reports that both Lexy and Cody are in pretty good shape.
They follow each other around, sleep curled up, and even give each other kisses on walks :) Cody is the male, and a pretty big boy.. probably close to 100lbs, and Lexy is about 75lbs. She's quite petite and has the lighter face... Cody is quite dark. They are both spayed and neutered, and appear to be house trained.
