Adopted!!

Toby is a 13 year old neutered male, who is looking for a new home.  He is currently in one of the pounds in Alberta, and we've been asked if we can find room for this sweet old boy. 

The staff reports:

"He has been a “shop dog” for most of his life but will never stay around the property.  (I have found that it is mainly during rain or thunderstorms that he runs away)  He is at our pound now, but his owners do not want to come claim him – and don’t want to subject him to being tied up all of the time.

Being 13 years old, Toby doesn’t really have a great chance of adoption here and it is very sad to see such a wonderful old dog be surrendered at this age.  Especially after being a family type pet for that long.

Toby is in no danger of being put down.  However, I sure don’t want to see him spend his last few years in a pound.  It just wouldn’t be fair to him.

He is great with other dogs, and I assume cats too.  A very gentle soul – a bit timid even.

Toby is already neutered, up to date on his shots and weighs roughly 80lbs. He is getting daily walks and sometimes gets free run on a large farm outside of Town.  He’s lost a lot of weight, which was much needed – and really looks at the top of his game!!"

November 4th ~ Adopted!!

Thanks to the listing on your website, Toby will be going to his new home on Sunday!!  A wonderful couple who live in the area and they have a 6 year old German Shepherd already.  The wife has had German Shepherds all her life and is very experienced in the breed.  

Toby will have a 5-Bedroom house and 47 acres of land.  He'll be a house dog (with outdoor privileges obviously) and they intend for Toby to be in their family for the rest of his life. An amazing home and he will be going with them this Sunday!
