After more than a couple of complaints, the city stepped in and seized Tyson from his owners. They were given many opportunities to make things right, but in the end, Tyson was signed over to the city.

Luckily for Tyson and us, Willow offered to foster Tyson and work him through any issues that arose.

Here, in her pack, Tyson has learned his place in the world and what is acceptable behavior and what is not.

Feb. 5th - Willow reports:

"Tyson is great with other dogs both large and small, house trained, and knows basic commands.  He has started pulling me on his ski's (skijoring) which helps him burn off some of his energy.  Tyson likes to play with toys, and likes the  water.  Would do best in an active experienced home, with a secure fenced yard.  Typical GSD wants to be someone's constant companion, and is a softy, very sensitive, and doesn't need much in way of correction."

 April ~ Update

Tyson is an AMAZING Dog!

He knows all his basic commands, has exceptional house manners, and is well behaved on the leash. He would love nothing more than to be someone's constant companion, and has become my shadow! He loves to sit in front of me with his chest on my legs, he couldn't get closer if he tried! Just so he won't miss a move or a command, a kind word, or a scratch behind the ears!

Tyson is a gentleman, and wins over everyone with his charm and his devastatingly good looks!

He is good with other dogs of all sizes, and has now learned to live peacefully with my cat. He has been around a 6 year old and 5 year old child and behaved well.

Sadly, we have just found out that Tyson has a partial torn cruciate, and will need to have surgery as soon as possible. With GSRBC's funding at an all time low, we are asking for your help to get Tyson this surgery that he desperately needs. Cruciate surgeries are usually around the 3000.00 mark, and GSRBC will be fundraising like crazy to raise these funds to help Tyson. Whether Tyson goes to a home before or after his surgery, GSRBC will remain responsible for the surgical bill.

Please remember that GSRBC is a registered charity and all of your donations are tax deductible.

If you are interested in adding Tyson to your home, please email us for an application: GSDRescue@shaw.ca

Tyson came into our care in the beginning of January.

He is roughly around 5 years of age, is neutered, and up to date on his shots.

Tyson was sent up to Quesnel for socialization, training and basic rehab.

Once again, a dog without direction and training. As a young dog, Tyson was left chained up on the owners blueberry farm. Often, he was let off to roam the property. Like most GSDs, Tyson became territorial about his property, and started to guard. As the years went by and he was allowed to chase people and other animals away, the behavior escalated to him chasing them down the street.

Needless to say, the neighbors, resident joggers and dog walkers were not too impressed to see a 90lbs German Shepherd come running at them!

Tyson thrives on the bond with his person and would do best in a GSD experienced home, with someone that is active and loves to do have their dog involved in lots of activities.

**We feed a raw diet to our rescues. This cuts down on the amount of medical attention they need, as well as makes them all around healthier.

**If you are able to buy one months worth for one dog, it would greatly lessen the load. Please specify which dog it is that you would like to feed, and we will show your pledge on each dog's page. This special sponsorship is called "Foster Partner in Care" and simply means that you are part of the foster program for the dog of your choice. One home supplies the shelter, and the other supplies the food. Many people want to help, but have no room in their homes to do so. This is the perfect way to be involved with the animal of your choice and be updated regularly on their care and well being. It's a win-win for everyone, especially the dogs!
