Shadow is my loyal side kick. He has stood by me for the last 14 years and watched many foster dogs come and go through our home. He hasn't always been graceful, but he has been tolerant. Mostly, he loves his favorite job in rescue, and that job is keeping his spot on the couch safe and occupied! ;)

We adopted Bodo (formerly Buddy) from GSRBC. It was love at first sight! He is amazing and we are so grateful and lucky that he is in our lives! Now, we are fostering for GSRBC as well! It has been a wonderful experience and
I am so glad that we are able to be involved with GSRBC and support them in any
way that we are able. ~ Linnea Sellin, Coquitlam BC

Sophie
is my 3 yr. old rescue GSD. She is battling the deadly fungus
infection Cryptococcosis www.vet.uga.edu/vpp/clerk/reynolds/
The treatment is long a min of 9 months and very expensive. Sophie
is handling the treatment well but unfortunately not responding as we
would like to see. Thanks to the kind people that have donated to
her Trust Fund we are able to handle her $400.00 a month medicine cost for
now. During these early months of treatment Sophie has had to give
up her beloved flyball. Sophie is my constant companion and is never
far from my side. She is the love of my life..
Update: Sophie will not be cured, but is on
a maintenance program and is doing great. She is back in flyball and
competing in tournaments and living a full and active life.Too many
people have a diagnosis or Cryto and have their dogs put down. As
I have found out you can live with it and the dog can still have a full
and normal life.

Rebel, our 4 ½ year old rescued GSD dug into his “allowance jar” and donated $30.00 to sponsor “Picasso”. Shortly after we rescued Rebel two years ago he got bloat and we thought we were going to lose him, but after a $2000 surgery and 10 day hospital recovery he is our best friend and the one who never fails to make us smile everyday! I hope that you can add his picture to your Honor page and we all hope that Picasso finds a forever home soon.

I
have quite a few pictures of Buster, since I have had him for about 3
years, and he is like my "first born." I got him from the
Burnaby SPCA. I adopted Ripley from the Vancouver SPCA. She is
a Chow/Husky cross. If it weren't for the fact that I already have a
couple of dogs I would have considered Roddy for myself.

We lost our GS/Malamute a year ago last June. At that time I thought no more dogs. Well OK I will set the bar so high that there is no way to find another great dog like Tasha. At that time a couple of weeks later we were planning a road trip with our 7 yr old son up to the Kootneys. Out of curiosity I thought to check the shelters up there. I located Second Chance and looked at their animals. There was Jake. Described as "Mr. Easy Going". So cute. So Shepherd. We went and met his foster Mom who adored him and spent quite a lot of time with him walking and hiking. What a great mellow almost melancholy dog. Found stray on the highway. We all fell in love, cut our vacation short so we could adopt him and headed home. 10 hours on the road he slept on my son's lap. Our cat puffed up for about an hour and now they are true pals. The rest is history.

Katie and Winnie are our 11 & 9 1/2 year
old shepherds. They are very active and love to do EVERYTHING with
us. They are sisters and best friends, always together and very much
loved. We decided to support Luke in hopes that he would find a loving
forever home too.

We have just used paypal to send you $63.61 to feed Noelle for one month on behalf of our lovely GSD Mrs. Kelly. Mrs. Kelly's little friend Abigail crossed over the Rainbow Bridge last Monday and we are making a second donation in her memory also. Abigail's humans were a great help to us when we rescued Mrs. Kelly from the SPCA and Abigail was one of the few dogs who understood our girl's issues.
We admire your work and will be contacting you when we are ready to adopt our second GSD.

In honor of Jasmine - Sponsored Lucky |

I stumbled across your website today and couldn't help but cry as I watched the movie clip and read about Finnegan. I don't understand how someone could be so heartless as to harm a puppy or any animal for that mater. I myself have a german shepherd cross named Jasmine. She is crossed with coyote and she is very much a handful to say the least but I love her. She just turned two and has more energy then either one of us knows quite what to do with!!! I admire what you do and will continue to support you in the future. ~Erica C. ~ Surrey, BC

Kia has so much love to give. It is so hard to believe that someone could give her up. We are not sure of her history. Kia's little brother ( Mr. Winslow) is teaching Kia how to play with toys and other dogs. She was so shy and reserved I don't think she had any interaction with people or dogs until she was rescued by her angel. Each day her confidence has grown beyond anything that we could have ever imagined. I am so thankful to have this beautiful and inspiring creature in my life. Kelly there is a special place in my heart for all that you have done to help these otherwise helpless wonderful loving dogs. I am simply overjoyed! May Noelle find her special home soon.
Kelly you rock!!!!
~Kellie and Pete and Mr. Winslow ~ Squamish, BC Sadly, Kia passed away September 25th 2007 ~ Our deepest condolences to Kellie & family. Thank you for loving her so well...

Hello GSRBC,
Every little bit helps, so here is a little bit to help wherever it is needed the most. The donation is in honor of Bobby, our sweet and gentle German Shepherd Rescue dog. We gave him a forever home, and he has given us so much in return. We know he would like to help another German Shepherd find a loving family. Thank you, GSRBC, for your tireless efforts on behalf of these wonderful dogs. Please help us again by choosing a dog for Bobby to sponsor. You know better than us who needs the help the most.

In honor of Crystal - Sponsoring Lady, Baylee, Hudson, Sully, Clyde, Kona, VooDoo, Chaos |

So, how about putting a sweet little senior Sheltie on
your "In Honor of" page? I think she'll fit right in with
all those magnificent GSD's! She is going to be 12 this spring, is slowing down but still bouncy and loves her walks and sniffs along the boulevard in her neighborhood. She would be happy to help a senior GSD in your rescue, you choose, o.k.? I've attached a photo of her last Christmas and am sending a cheque to GSD rescue in the mail. Thanks again for all you do Kelly, it's truly amazing. Your work makes a positive difference every day in the life of a living, feeling being.

In honor of Hunter - Sponsoring Kona |
![]() |
As soon as I saw Kona's eye's I knew I
had to sponsor her.
I am sponsoring her in Honor of my Rescued German Shepherd X Hunter. I adopted Hunter from the Victoria Pound 2 and a half years ago. He was a six year old 88 pound Shepherd / Wolf who had been at the pound for over 2 months being over looked because of his breed, size and age, one look in his soft eyes and it was love at first sight. He is the best dog ever, he fit in perfectly with my 3 rescued cats. Hunter is now 9 years old and 120 pounds and as happy as can be. He loves everything and everybody. I am attaching a picture of him sleeping with my nephew. I want to commend you on the wonderful work you do. ~ Shawna Dennis ~ Victoria, BC

In honor of Damasio - Sponsoring Couper |
![]() |
This contribution is in honor of my
dearest Damasio.
My first ever German Shepherd. I have learned a lot from my boy and he is truly a text book GSD. He is loyal, goofy, full of drive, brilliant and an all around beauty! Mas has been a great ambassador for his breed and because of him I will forever have GSDs in my family. This is also in memory of my dad, Mohinder, who ignited my passion for this phenomenal breed as a child. ~ Ruby Sihota ~ Victoria, BC

In honor of Jagger & Shelby - Sponsoring Logan |
![]() |
I have just made a $50 donation via pay
pal and would like it to go to the sponsorship of Logan in honor of my
dogs Jagger and Shelby.
Logan sounds very much like my boy Jagger who at Logan's age had similar issues, but overcame them to be a very confident and fun loving dog, like I hope Logan will be. I know Jagger and Shelby (who was always so patient with her brother) wish Logan the best of luck and a long and healthy life.
Thank you,
~ Lee Conlin

In honor of Riley and Lexie - Sponsoring
Logan
Wow, what a deal! For my first donation to GSRBC, I get to honor my two dogs, sponsor a foster dog (Logan) and wish my sister-in-law "Happy Birthday"! Great! Riley and Lexie were both rescue dogs of sorts. Riley, the German Shepherd X in the far left of the picture came from the Victoria SPCA 8 years ago. By coincidence, her adoption day is the same day as my sister-in-law's birthday! And Lexie, the little white dust mop of a dog (aka a Havanese) came from a responsible breeder in Victoria who took her back when her first owner didn't work out. Happily, Riley and Lexie have been roommates for over a year now and get along famously; also with their "cuz" Zeeva who they love to visit as often as they can! Happy day - Riley and Gerry! ~ Liz Frick - Victoria
