Sponsorship is easy:

Sponsorship of a dog requires a minimum $25 donation. More than one person may sponsor the same dog. (they often need more than 25.00!) Your donation will help feed, shelter and provide medical attention to the dog you decide to sponsor.

**We feed a raw diet for our rescues. This cuts down on the amount of medical attention they need, as well as makes them all around healthier. It costs 102.08 to feed ONE dog per month. If you are able to buy one months worth for one dog, it would greatly lessen the load. Please specify which dog it is that you would like to feed, and we will show your pledge on each dog's page. This special sponsorship is called "Foster Partner in Care Sponsor" and simply means that you are part of the foster program for the dog of your choice. One home supplies the shelter, and the other supplies the food. Many people want to help, but have no room in their homes to do so. This is the perfect way to be involved with the animal of your choice and be updated regularly on their care and well being. It's a win-win for everyone, especially the dogs!

Make your donation securely through PayPal to our rescue (click on the paypal button below. You may use your credit card if you wish) and make sure to tell us the name of the dog you wish to sponsor! You may also send your donation via the good old fashioned Canada Post. If you want to remain anonymous, you can put that in the message box next to the name of the dog you will be sponsoring, or just include a little note. We love to read your letters and cards. Thank you for sending them! 

If you would like to sponsor one of our dogs, with a $25 or more donation, In Honor of... or In Memory of..., please tell us this in the notes section of paypal or send us an addition e-mail at GSDRescue@shaw.ca letting us know that you have just used PayPal to sponsor a dog and would like:

• your current dog to appear on our In Honor of... page
• or your beloved family member that has passed away, to appear on our In Memory of... page. We too would like to honor your dog, by placing their picture on our pages. Please send them in you have them!
• Our supporters have found other ways to help out as well; they have made a donation in lieu of presents for birthdays, Christmas, flowers for funerals or in memoriam of a special human friend. We are more than happy to publish these heart felt messages on our website and send a card on your behalf. Thank you for letting us be a part of it.  We will very soon be adding a "Thank You" page to our website, as many sponsorships are taken down once a dog is adopted and sponsors are no longer viewable. This hardly seems right, as we do so appreciate your support.  Please be patient and give us a little time to get this end of the website going.

GSRBC was formed in June of 2004.  We were incorporated  with non-profit status on October 29th 2004 and received federal Charitable status in Canada on April 1st 2005. We depend on our wonderful extended family of fosters, volunteers, adopters, and supporters to carry on in our mission.  Without them, we could never continue. It is thanks to people like you that we are successful.  One hundred percent of all donations go directly into the rescued GSD's new beginning - providing everything from medical treatment, to training, food, supplies and in some cases, boarding.  Adoption fees help but are not enough.  The average cost per dog in 2006 totaled approximately $685.98. This total does not include toys, bedding, leashes, gas, supplies, etc. That's right, GSRBC spent $27,439.28 on dogs in need in 2006! Your donations are so important.
