GSRBC has been approved for the Aeroplan Charitable Pooling program. We have been given a charitable Aeroplan account so that we can collect Aeroplan miles from generous supporters, and use these miles to purchase raffle and other prizes to raise money for the dogs. This program is an easy way for our supporters to donate and really doesn't cost anything. All you have to do is buy your gas from Esso or purchase goods from one of the stores listed. If everyone donates some miles, we will have enough to get some awesome prizes! Ok supporters...let's start collecting!!!!!

What Do Volunteers Do?

We Gratefully Acknowledge Our Spotlight Volunteer:

Aislinn Brennan
Thank you Aislinn, for all that you do for GSRBC's Dogs!
Aislinn is a very busy young lady with a very full schedule. Yet somehow she always finds the time to come out every single week to walk our dogs and give Griffin some much needed one on one time. She takes him hiking and swimming and puts a lot of effort into his socialization. Of course Griffin is over the moon for Aislinn and can hardly contain himself when he sees her.
Aislinn is currently taking Griffin through a basic obedience course, and we are very pleased with his progress so far!

How you can help:

All animal rescue groups need volunteers to operate successfully, and German Shepherd Rescue of BC is no exception! Volunteering a little bit of your time goes a long way in helping a needy dog.

Volunteering for GSRBC can be anything as simple as distributing some flyers about us to the public, to handing out information about GSRBC at a local events such as a dog show or craft fair, to transporting dogs from one local destination to another, to helping us build our mailing list of German Shepherd lovers in British Columbia, to selling raffle tickets and fundraising, to out and out fostering a homeless dog in need!

There are many other volunteer activities which can be fun as well as helpful, as you meet people and talk about our favorite subject: German Shepherd Dogs! Please consider becoming a member of GSRBC and volunteering some of your time, whether it be for an hour one weekend, or fostering full time, or anything in-between. We're all volunteers here and we'd love to have your help in aiding wonderful dogs in need to find happiness in new, permanent homes.

If you are interested in helping out, please us at for more information. Here are a few of the jobs we need help with.

Dog or Adoption related:

  • Educational Booths at Public Places (events, pet stores, dog shows, etc.) We can always use extra handlers at events!

  • Working with local Shelters and Animal Control Officers to identify PB GSDs in need

  • Evaluating Dogs in regional Shelters

  • Transportation - Specify locale, type of vehicle, general distance you'd travel

  • Working with Foster Homes and their foster dogs ( requires general dog training knowledge of in house manners, etc)

  • Be a Foster home caring for a GSRBC rescue dog

  • Be a Foster Partner in Care Sponsor (pay for food, toys, supplies, microchip, etc.) Costs vary dog by dog, so email us for more information about the dog you are interested in supporting

  • Being a foster buddy - Take a dog out for the day or even the weekend. Occasional fostering for holidays, etc.

  • Photographing Dogs available for Adoption

  • Walking/Exercise for dogs in care. Agility, obedience classes, etc. Our dogs are always desperate for some extra exercise!

**Dog Walkers Needed!!!**

  • Qualified trainers/behaviorists are welcome to donate some of their time to help train our GSDs to reach their full potential! A trained dog is much more adoptable!

  • Would you be willing to be on our fundraising committee?

  • Fundraising events (such as selling raffle tickets, etc)

  • Can you do crafts or make other items for our various fundraising events?

  • Can you hold a garage sale once or twice a year?

  • Regardless of your talents or availability there is something for everyone Bake Sales, Home Checks, Construction, Crafts, Events, Face Painting, Foster Care, Raffles, Photographer, Doggy washes, Car washes, Newsletter, Website, Transportation, Garage Sales, Poster Distribution and More!

  • Finding ways to raise the much needed funding! Volunteers always welcome!

Your ideas?

  • Do you have a special talent that could benefit the dogs or our organization and you would like to put it to use? Please email us if you would like to contribute.
